About UsGreen Team recycles cans and bottles at fife and drum musters and donates all of the redemption money for scholarships to send young fifers and drummers to the Company of Fifers & Drummers Junior Fife & Drum Camp.
Recycling bins (decorated by musicians during camp!) are set up by campers and volunteers around the muster field. Throughout the weekend teams of volunteers make sure all the recycling is collected. On Sunday the Green Team sorts cans, glass, and plastic, and teams bring the recyclables to local redemption centers. |
History |
A few crazy friends of the camp launched the first recycling effort at the Deep River Ancient Muster (DRAM) in 2008 and it’s grown every year since. Starting in 2009 a more formal effort began to build – many of us are campers and alums, but we also have lots of Green Team members who pitch in because they believe in the value of Camp or are happy to make our Musters earth friendly.

Everyone is welcome! |
We have members who are adults and children, moms and dads, brothers and sisters, (and even some beloved dogs!), from corps that hail from across the US, and even folks not directly involved in Fife & Drum, but who believe in the importance of what we’re doing. Some work independently on projects and others rally some friends to share the load. Everyone is making a difference, and for that we are all very grateful!

Everybody can be great, because everybody can serve. You don't need to have a college degree to serve. You don't have to make your subject and your verb agree to serve. You don't have to know the Second Theory of Thermal Dynamics in Physics to serve... You need a heart full of grace and a soul generated by love."
